Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder $35 (here) is described as, "One invisible formula that works for all skin tones, from light to deep. This powder contains unique light-reflecting, micro-refined spherical silica powders that help create a soft-focus appearance, diminishing the look of fine lines and imperfections while visibly smoothing skin."
I must say..I wasnt interested in replacing my mac mineralize setting powder. However after having Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation (review here) and Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer (review here) as my HG products I decided to give this powder a try. The packaging is similar to bare minerals with the shifter inside making it easy to control the amount of product that comes out.
The powder is lightweight, sheer, and finely milled. I like to use the Laura Mercier Fan Powder Brush (here) during application. This brush is specially designed just for the loose powder for a soft application. It does that perfectly making sure you apply the least amount of product for a soft focus effect. Since the powder is translucent your not adding any extra color to your skin. You wont look cakey, in fact I think it gives a beautiful airbrushed effect to skin.
Overall, Laura did it again! I'm in love! I love how light this powder feels on skin, and the flawless airbrushed finish it leaves. Because my foundation itself lasts all day already I can't really comment on if it makes my foundation wear longer. However it does give me a poreless airbrushed finish that I adore.
If your interested in any of the Laura Mercier products, I highly recommend them! Its definitely worth picking up a LM flawless face kit that includes all my favorite products to give them a try :)
